Li Dong squatted down in front of him and looked down at him. He found that Xingling’s eyes were still darting around, and that he was awake. “Are you comfortable?” Wearing a bathrobe, Li Dong took out a cigarette, slipped it between his lips, and lit it. He exhaled, and his eyes behind the smoke were haggard and a bit lifeless.

“...” Xu Xingling seemed to be unable to speak. He only sad a wistful and disappointed smile on Li Dong’s face.

“Let this experience teach you a lesson. If you still don’t learn, next time, I’ll leave you on the side of the road and let others have their fill.” Li Dong said, smacking Xu Xingling lightly on the head.

Li Dong then went to take a bath and prepare to go to bed.

When he returned from the bathroom, Xingling was still lying on the ground and had not gotten up.

Li Dong nudged him with his foot, but the other party was like a dead fish. It seemed like there was no way Xingling would be getting up by himself. With a sigh, Li Dong declared, “I’ll carry you to bed, then.”

Xu Xingling’s eyes were still teary. He cuddled into Li Dong’s chest and dreamed peacefully.

The next day was a weekday. When Li Dong woke up, Xu Xingling was still asleep. Li Dong estimated that he had no strength to go to work.

Li Dong really felt as if bigger companies truly were different. Even the supervisors and management is much more civil.

Xingling finally woke up at noon. After several days of emotional distress, he looked haggard and broken down.

Li Dong really isn’t a coldhearted man. He wouldn’t be too cold to Xingling at a time like this. He asked, “Do you want to sleep for a bit longer? If you don’t feel tired anymore, go wash up and get dressed. I’ll take you out for a meal and then home to sleep a bit more.”

Xu Xingling was stunned. Li Dong, looking at Xingling’s surprised expression, added, “I called in already to ask for leave from work for you. If you also can’t go in tomorrow, call them again yourself.”

“Thank you… Thank you, Second Young Master.” Xu Xingling cringed hearing his own cracked and hoarse voice. His mouth flattened into a line at how bad he sounded. 

He looked away from Li Dong as he suddenly recalled everything from last night. He knew he really had made a fool of himself. Li Dong hadn’t scolded him much last night and taken care of him despite this. Xingling buried himself into the duvet and cried.

“Xu Xingling.” Li Dong called out his full name solemnly. Xingling slowly lifted his face from the blankets and looked towards Li Dong. “Do you know what would have happened to you had I not rushed over last night?”

Xingling remembered everything from last night. He knew he would have been taken advantage of.

“...” Xingling didn’t say anything, but nodded, water droplets still clinging to his lashes.

“You would have been treated as a dog, like a worthless ragdoll, someone who no one cherishes and no one would cherish ever again in the future. And do you want to know why no one would never want you again in the future?

“Not because you were assaulted by and in front of so many people—but because you were a willing victim. You’re in such a hurry to be spoiled by a man who rejected you that you would listen to his every word, no matter if his intent is for your wellbeing.”

Xu Xingling stared at Li Dong, the man who calmly tried to teach him logic. He listen and nodded without replying.

“Do you feel embarrassed? Are you at all ashamed?”

Xingling still only nodded and did not speak. Li Dong couldn’t take this for an answer. He stretched out his hand to pull at Xingling’s quilt to expose his body. “Speak up, and answer carefully. You’re so talkative when trying to seduce others, but now you’re mute?”

“Yes.” Xu Xingling couldn’t grapple the blankets back from Li Dong, and he didn’t dare to anyway, so he answered while curling himself up, hugging his knees.

“What should you do next time? Are you still going to whine all day and then call my big brother when no one pays attention to you? If he asks you to go out and serve someone, will you just go out and serve someone without complaint?” Li Dong stood by the bed, his face cold.
