He thought he was dreaming, not acting in a movie…
Li Dong’s eyes shot open as his mind suddenly flooded with memories. Seeing the debauched and jarring environment, he immediately shot straight up from the bar.
(translator notes: this might be a tad confusing, but Li Dong just transmigrated into a bar. he was napping with his head down on the bar table and just woke up.)
Li Dong practically physically embodied those questions: who am I? Where am I? What am I doing?
“Second Young Master.” A hand clasped Li Dong’s shoulder, startling him.
Li Dong glanced back at an unfamiliar face.
“Who are you…” Li Dong suddenly went from being completely dumbfounded to being completely wide-eyed in shock. After a few moments recovering, he managed to blurt out: “Sun Heng?”
Like the Sun Heng from the novel?
“Yes, of course it’s me,” Sun Heng chuckled. “You okay, Second Young Master? You aren’t drunk, right?” He absentmindedly gestured up to a private room on the second floor: “The Eldest Young Master is looking for you, saying that he’s been waiting for you for quite a while. He’s worried you might have fallen into some random pit.”
“…” Oh fuck. If you are not reading from readerfeedertranslation.blogspot.com, this work was stolen.
Li Dong covertly reached down to pinch at his own thigh, slightly grimacing at the sting. Everything seems to be real, but goddamnit, but how did he transmigrate into a book about dumbasses as the dumbass second young master?
He had just finished reading this book a few days ago, so Li Dong remembered everything clearly–even this little supporting side character.
He looked at Sun Heng, irked, and decided to just follow the dialogue he remembered from the book: “Why is he looking for me?”
If everything sticks to the original script, Sun Heng will reply to him: I’m not going to tell you right at this moment. I want to keep it a surprise.
Sure enough, Sun Heng smiled and said to Li Dong, “Well, I won’t tell you for the time being. I want to give you a surprise. Consider it a birthday gift.”
What a good looking surprise this is. In fact, this surprise named Xi Xingling actually looks a lot like one of those viscous, covetous male leads that are so often paired with their elusive, white moonlight first loves. If you are not reading from readerfeedertranslation.blogspot.com, this work was stolen.
Han Yubai, Xingling’s love interest in the book, initially thought Xi Xingling was merely a plaything bought by his elder brother. He was thinking that it would be such a waste to not play with him in such a case, so of course he happily agreed.
Han Yubai soon learned, however, that the young man, who he regarded as a plaything doled out by his brother, was actually desperately in love with that same elder brother.
The tyrannical author described Han Yubai as perverse, violent, domineering, and someone who spent all his days thinking up various methods to torture the male protagonist Xi Xingling. Occasionally, he even filmed these experiences to send to his elder brother Han Tianlin.
Han Yubai eventually went too far, though, and actually had his friends join him in toying with Xi Xingling a few times.
According to the author’s logic, the scumbag Han Tianlin only allowed Xi Xingling to come back to him because he saw that Xi Xingling was so behaved despite being so miserable as a Xiao Shou, and asked Xiao Shou back return to him out of what little compassion he had.
(translator notes: a xiao shou is the ‘receiving party’ in a homosexual relationship. so a bottom.)
But there’s still more.
Even if Xi Xingling returned to the scumbag’s side temporarily, he was still called on by the abnormal younger brother, basically serving as a free MB
(translator notes: MB is an abbreviation for moneyboy, a boy who is paid for sexual acts.)
Just thinking of it made Li Dong uncomfortable.
He was now confused and at a loss.
But at any rate, Li Dong was the stupid third young master. No matter how shocked he was at this turn of events internally, he did not and could not show any of it.
“Let’s go, then,” Li Dong subconsciously spoke in his own tone of voice, but then quickly adopted Han Yubai’s rich, second-generation personality: “What kind of surprise could be so mysterious? What the hell is my elder brother playing at?”
Sun Heng: “Hey, you’ll know once you go up.”
So Li Dong walked in front, naturally showcasing his tall and thin, stylish figure. The book says that he was born affluent with a handsome face. He’s both young and rich and therefore is a well-known second-generation big shot in the city’s social scene.
In the book, as soon as this third young master entered the scene, he was already kicking at the door and knocking down the waiter, fully reflecting Han Yubai’s unruly disposition.
Well, now it was Li Dong’s turn, so he cleverly opened the door to just perfectly hit the waiter. The other party apologized anxiously. Li Dong waved his hand to signal that he was letting the other party go do whatever they needed to do.
Sun Heng, who followed him, saw this and thought to himself: It seems that the young master is in a good mood today.
The group of people sitting in the private room are almost all Han Tianlin’s friends. They all knew that Han Tianlin loved his brother Han Yubai very much, so they all took the initiative to say hello.
“The Second Young Master is here, quickly come sit!”
Seeing his beloved younger brother, Han Tianlin patted the seat next to him. “Yubai, come here.”
“Big brother.” Li Dong greeted as he looked over at Han Tianlin. This was his older brother who was the biggest boss in the book. He remembered that except for Han Yubai who was safe and sound, the other people who played with Xi Xingling alongside Han Yubai had met a miserable end.
When Li Dong walked towards his brother, he glanced at Han Tianlin’s side. The stylishly and beautifully dressed male protagonist was sitting obediently next to Han Tianlin.
When Xu Xingling saw Li Dong walking in, his expression seemed to suddenly light up.
“Second Young Master,” the protagonist greeted. This male lead of the book is both pitifully in love yet quite the sassy, bold character. It seems that every day in the book, Xu Xingling was ready to practically jump Han Tianlin, but Han Tianlin refused to accept him, and instead directly asked him to follow his younger brother instead.
Xu Xingling agreed aggrievedly, and so now, right after, he saw Han second young master approaching and greeted him enthusiastically.
“Big Brother, this is…” Li Dong’s reaction was the same as Han Yubai’s from the book; his eyes widened when he saw the male lead, and he felt a bit of disbelief.
“Brother Chen is back?” It is said that the male lead and Han Yubai’s sweetheart look very similar. Li Dong had no impression of either, however, and he only saw that the male lead was very bright, with his entire body diffusing a fragrance towards him.
“Why don’t you take a closer look?” Han Tianlin chuckled.
“No, he is not Brother Chen.” Li Dong squinted his eyes and smiled wryly after taking a second look, seemingly losing his interest in Xu Xingling.
“What did you call me up for?” Li Dong asked Han Tianlin as he sat down beside him, with Xu Xingling being on Tianlin’s other side.
Han Tianlin gave a laugh and said, “What’s the matter, if it’s not Achen, you are not interested?” As Han Yubai’s elder brother, he knew very clearly who the object of his younger brother’s affection was.
However, Han Yubai wasn’t bothered by this.
Li Dong glanced at the male lead again and thought: I don’t want to have this big pile of troubles shoved my way. But thinking for a little longer, he grew soft-hearted as he realized that, if he refused to take the male lead, then Han Tianlin would give Xi Xingling to someone else anyway.
Li Dong’s attitude towards the male protagonist’s fate was indignant and sad at most. In the days after he finished reading the book, he felt very strongly about what the protagonist went through and wanted to jump into the book to teach the idiot protagonist and the scumbag how to be proper, normal people.
But as an adult man, this sort of vehement excitement was only temporary.
Now that he is actually in the book, Li Dong was rather more confused and dazed than anything.
translator’s notes:
hi again peeps! thanks so much for stopping by, and i hope you stick around for more! be sure to leave a rating on novelupdates if you enjoy this translation, and also buy me a kofi in support if you can! i’m currently trying to survive college, so anything helps ^-^
also, if you would like to read this offline, go to the toc and you'll see a pdf version there!
Why don't you try mtling each chapter and then read it, correct the grammatical errors you found and if you see a line that doesn't make sense read the raws and translate it into something we can understand. Mtl is actually ok for the most part, you just need to edit it a little. I think this would help in making the time you spent on translating chapters shorter.
ReplyDeleteSo excited! Thank you for your translations.
ReplyDeleteI think the translator notes will be better together at the end. Don't worry about the length of the chaps, just do what suits you. And once again, thank you.
Liking the MC day 2 xD
ReplyDeleteIt seems quite realistic of him to not be too invested but still show some compassion towards the protagonist. Me likey
